Optimum Compaction all but eliminates voids in our carbon frame pieces and components achieving a structure so strong, it exceeds even Aero Space Standards. Voids are small, sometimes microscopic gaps between carbon layers where fatigue failures typically begin. Some manufactures add foam or clay to their molds to fill them. If you cut open any frame other than a Trek you will see large amounts of voids in the competitions carbon frames and components. As you might imagine that leaves you with frames and components that are weaker and more prone to flex and breakage. Because foam and clay are no substitutes for True Low Void Carbon.

Aero Space Standards require carbon laminates with fewer than 2% voids.
